  • Abstract
The information-theoretic approach to A/D conversion combined with a fresh look at the successive approximation process results in an efficient flash ADC design. The principle of an asynchronous flash converter requiring only one comparator per bit is described. Results of a 4-bit design, using current mode techniques are reported.
