Abstract
In this paper we describe the effect of amplifier linearization by means of adaptive look-up-table-based digital predistortion for the UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) uplink. Simulations and measurements show that digital predistortion can improve the ACPR performance up to 10 dB. Error sources like the quadrature modulator and demodulator and the antenna mismatch are analyzed and found to be manageable.
