Abstract
Service quality and overall quality of service management will be an important issue in future 3/4G networks. To ensure service quality and QoS to the subscribers, whole new means have to be developed due the fact that there is no management system especially designed for the new types of wireless services and wireless environment. The goal, to have an end-to-end management functionality in 3/4G service networks, is very challenging and, therefore, also very rewarding. For this purpose, we have developed an in-band service control protocol and framework concept for 3/4G services. This concept can be used on any network-based services and in any network environment but the paper concentrates only on the wireless service environment and its management.
