Abstract
Future systems are planned to have IP based networks providing full multimedia services. To succeed with new services one has to look at points for improvement in current networks. A project at NTNU is studying elements that can be simplified in current and future networks to provide the required quality of service. Study for GSM shows that end-to-end delay can be reduced by 50%. We can extend this work to IP based 3GPP networks.
