Abstract
The design, fabrication and measurement of a 4×8 open-ended waveguide array antenna operating over 3-3.4 GHz are presented. Each waveguide is connected with a ferrite phase shifter which provides phase delay to ensure electrically scanning. Furthermore, the waveguide is partially filled of dielectric to enable better matching of the waveguide to free space. Measured results have confirmed that, the active VSWR of the central element is less than 2 over the operating frequency band in the required scanning space.
