  • Abstract
    This paper aims at presenting a review of recent works in the domain of the design process modelling. Especially, the results of a state of the art on the design process modelling and on the performance evaluation of the design process are described. The paper is split into three parts. The first one presents precisely the challenges to meet particularly in the frame of the innovative design for the aerospace industries. The second part presents the review in terms of approaches and formalisms for the design process modelling. The third describes the main principles necessary to evaluate the performance of the innovative design process. Then the paper concludes on the opportunity to develop a design process formalism to evaluate design and help actors to improve their activities.
