Abstract :
The ion dynamics in the high current diodes is considered. The effect of self-acceleration of ions at the front of the ion stream from the anode plasma is determined and investigated. The essential influence of the effect of self-acceleration of ions on the focusing of an electron beam in needle diodes is shown.
