Abstract
The transmission media in common use of the LAN-twisted pair may couple with an external electromagnetic field, the field can excite common-mode (CM) current and differential-mode (DM) current. To evaluate the differential-mode current, this paper proposes a comparatively stricter new method: the bifilar-helix-method based on the reciprocity theorem. To evaluate the common-mode current, the finite element method (FEM) is applied.
