Abstract
The Laboratory of Electrical Engineering and Health (LEEH) at the Tampere University of Technology (TUT) has been active in improving the quality of teaching. A course ´Simulation game in Electric Economics´ is an example of how new methods, such as the use of WWW-applications, are implemented. The aim of this paper is to present the course and the WWW-application used as well as the feedback received. The basic idea of the course was to teach how to operate in the liberated electricity markets. The course attendance was limited and demanded taking part in classroom sessions and also remote working. During the course, the students operated fictitious companies in the electricity markets. After the completion of the course, the students filled out a feedback questionnaire. According to this feedback, the course was much liked. This feedback is also used, together with the faculty members´ experiences, in developing the course further.
