Abstract
This work study the error probability of ultra wideband (UWB) spread spectrum multiple access (SSMA) for a system in which all the active users transmit in a channel containing both additive white Gaussian noise and dense multipath. Using M-ary pulse position modulated signals the multiple-access performance is analyzed in terms of the bit error rate for a given number of active users in the system, signal-to-noise ratio, bit transmission rate and number of signals in the M-ary signal set. The results can be applied to the performance analysis of impulse radio modulation.
