Abstract
The Personal Access Communication System (PACS) is a lower-tier personal communication system developed and proposed by Bellcore in 1992. The PACS supports a wide range. of services, such as voice services, circuit data services and packet mode services, etc., in several operating environments. The PACS packet mode data service, PACS packet channel (PPC), is consistent and compatible with circuit mode services. However, the various application quality of service (QoS) requirements are not specified in the standard. We propose a new concept of QoS attributes over PACS PPC systems. In addition, we also provide solutions for implementation.
