  • Abstract
    A new spectral parameter coding method is used in MBE-LPC-FE algorithm. In this method, the sub-band V/UV decision is first evaluated to decide which codebook should be used in the following quantization of LP model parameters, in which the gain and LSP coefficients are included. To get the exact V/UV mode, a new sub-band V/UV decision method is proposed, in which the frequency bound and the number of sub-band are fixed while the number of harmonics in a single sub-band is determined by the fundamental frequency. The experimental result shows this multimode quantization scheme performs better than the original single-mode quantization method.
