  • Abstract
This paper presents a RSVP-TE based fast restoration scheme for meshed IPO all-optical networks. Mesh restoration for all-optical networks has not been studied in detail in the literature except for using protection switching or loopback recovery. Such schemes take a big bandwidth waste to the networks. In this paper, we provide a fast restoration scheme based on shared mesh protection path using GMPLS/RSVP-TE as the signaling. In this scheme, we introduce a small modification to RSVP-TE to carry out parallel resource reservation in order to do fast restoration. The performance of this scheme is evaluated finally.
