Abstract :
This paper presents a novel approach for fast human face location and tracking in color image sequences. A number of color sensitive behavior-based agents are. uniformly distributed in the 2D image environment to search the skin-like pixels and segment the face-like region by activating their evolutionary behavior. The agents work collaboratively and can locate the face region very fast. Experimental results show that the tracking speed is about 30 fps for 160 × 120 video size and 12 fps for 320 × 240 video size.
