Abstract
In this paper, thermodynamic unit matrix analysis method is used to research the general regulation and thermodynamic essence of the thermo-economic changes caused by the shaft gland system. On the base of the traditional thermal balance method, we developed a new approach for calculating the shaft gland system´s thermo-economics. The new method has characteristics of clear concept, broad application and easy popularization. Furthermore, it is even more helpful to computerize the thermo-economic analysis of the thermal system and energy conservation on-line monitoring.
