Abstract
In this paper the interference effect of a Bluetooth interferer on the IEEE802.11 physical interface is analytically evaluated taking into account different pulse shapes and frequency offsets. With the purpose to find simple and accurate methodologies suitable to be implemented in protocol simulators or analytical models, three different approaches are considered and compared in terms of accuracy and complexity. Results show that evaluations based on the Gaussian hypothesis, as regards the interference component, are not accurate and that the performance depends strongly on the frequency offset.
