Abstract :
In this paper, the control technique by sliding mode control of the surface temperature of the material placed into the dryness fireplace is proposed. This control law has the characteristics of an integral term and a fictitious set point (FSP). The FSP is introduced so that the process variable should follow the temperature pattern to the desired value. The aim of the fictitious set point is to prevent overshooting from the desired value. The switching manipulated variable which satisfies a sliding mode condition is obtained by taking the sign of the uncertainty into consideration. The computer simulation and experiment confirm the effect of this technique. The FSP could be confirmed though a large disturbance given to the process variable. The surface temperature of the material reached the desired value without overshooting.
