Abstract
An observation of the random-dot kinematogram shows that the movement of motion boundary may be an a priori knowledge of our visual motion perceptions. An estimation method of time-variant motion vectors containing motion boundaries is investigated. We combine filter equations for estimations of motion vectors and excitable media for smooth movements of motion boundaries. Simulation results show the approach gives good estimates and smooth movements of the boundaries.
