Abstract :
Scientific data transport system architecture based on recent optical communication and low-cost Ethernet networking technologies for next generation real-time seafloor globe monitoring cable networks are proposed. The proposed data transport system is subdivided into a scientific data aggregation layer and high capacity data communication backbone layer networks, and employed state-of-the-art transport and networking technologies. In addition, a simple and effective maintenance techniques for submerged cable are also presented.
