Abstract
A three-phase APF based on three-level NPC voltage source inverter employing a fast and accurate SVM is presented in this paper. The proposed SVM modulator uses a so-called vector classification algorithm modified for APF applications. The instantaneous reactive power concept is used to obtain inverter current reference signals required to compensate current harmonics and reactive power. The proposed algorithm and control circuit are discussed in details. The new method is simple to implement and can enhance the performance of APF, as compared to conventional SVM technique. Finally, simulation results obtained confirm the feasibility and the features of the proposed APF modulator.
