Abstract
The intrinsic 244nm photosensitivity of boron-codoped germanosilicate optical fibres is enhanced using 355nm hypersensitisation. Hypersensitisation through standard polymer coating is also demonstrated. Under optimal conditions no OH formation is introduced, adding further support to a model based on hydrogen catalysis.
