Abstract
Our aim is to design the service agent society mechanism of home network community by using OSGi (open service gateway initiative) platform. In a smart living environment, this mechanism makes various services to be shared among service agents directly or indirectly. The service agent´ design and implementation uses Jini technology to achieve the automation of discovery, registry, and management. Based on the mobility of service agent on the OSGi framework, the various kinds of services are deployed from the service providers to the mobile client for the execution of specific task. By the ability of Jini´s service discovery and the dynamic service deployment of OSGi (open service gateway initiative), and the integrating of the intelligent agent society, the mobile devices can enjoy the various services from the service provider. The mobile device also can receive the real time notify from its federation leader in order to download the necessary service, to remove the unnecessary service, or to update the newly service without restarting the system. Therefore, our design can solve the limited resource issue of small devices and be suitable for embedding flexibly into small mobile devices.
