Abstract
An analysis of the reception of optical signals on the position sensitive optical receiver is presented in this paper. The optical receiver and electronics for analog signal processing measure the angle displacements between the optical axis of the receiver and the direction optical receiver designated object, based on current signals, which are generated on the avalanche quadrant photodiode. Special attention was paid to the transimpedance preamplifier and the atmospheric turbulence as the key factors which limit the long range in pulsed laser tracking systems.
