  • Abstract
As a consequence of rather intensive communication techniques development, as well as strong necessity for video information transfer, many different compression techniques have been proposed. Different applications lead to very unpleasant teletraffic performances, producing even network bottlenecks. Fractal and multifractal analyses approve the presence of burstiness in traffic streams. This paper briefly explains the video compression standards, illuminating its fractal and multifractal properties.
