Abstract
The dispersion tolerance of SOA-MZI-based optical 3R regenerators implemented in a 2400km-long 40 Gbit/s WDM transmission line is numerically investigated, showing a wide +/-20 ps/nm range in the dispersion compensation when considering a 5 dB reduction in the system performance.
