  • Abstract
    Wafer fusion bonding of fused silica, surface relief transmission gratings have been demonstrated. Used in DWDM free-space devices, the bonded gratings have an athermal behaviour, a large mechanical ruggedness and in some cases higher diffraction efficiencies than nonbonded gratings.
