Abstract :
This paper presents results of direct measurements of resonance peaks of DNA´s and proteins by using a widely-tunable THz source. Direct measurements of transmission and absorption spectra may eventually become a valuable tool for identifying DNA´s and proteins based on their unique resonance peaks in the range of 1-3 THz. Probing resonance peaks for DNA´s and proteins can be used to monitor changes in DNA-encoded chain in patient´s blood for early diagnostic of diseases or gene therapy, and to search for specific signatures of viruses and bacteria or messenger RNA for analysis of metabolic processes.
