Abstract
This study presents experimental results towards the realization of an alternative optical technique, the FAST CARS (femtosecond adaptive spectroscopic technique for coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy) approach, and promises to simultaneously satisfy the critical requirements of speed, specificity and sensitivity in the detection and identification of bacterial spores.
