Abstract
This paper describes schemes for realizing the communication function in the road platform "DotITS". The schemes proposed in this paper are (1) the adaptive cell scheme that can reduce the times of handover as few as possible by varying a size of domain adapted to the vehicle\´s density, (2) the asymmetric sector scheme that can reduce the times of handover in the network level by sending the same data from nearby roadside units, and (3) the packet header structure used for the driving assistance applications. In addition, the system\´s migration is also discussed.
