Abstract
With increasing network traffic, a very short-reach (VSR) optical link module that connect between network nodes, such as routers and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) nodes, becomes important, and 40-Gbit/s (OC-768) class VSR will be required in a few years. We have developed a low-cost 4×10-Gbit/s optical module for short-reach applications. We confirmed that the module has high sensitivity and very low crosstalk.
