Abstract
A new balanced subharmonic mixer based on our hybrid planar/NRD guide technology is proposed. This mixer uses a slotline to microstrip line T-junction to eliminate the need for stubs and via holes. The topology and design steps for this mixer are presented and discussed. A mixer prototype operating in the LMCS band (from 27.3 GHz to 28.4 GHz at the RF port) is shown. Measured conversion loss is around 10 dB, with RF-IF and RF-LO isolation levels better than 30 dB.
