Abstract
In this paper we propose and compare different techniques used by the satellite user terminals to randomly access signaling channels used for connection set-up. The reference scenario is represented by EuroSkyWay [G. Losquadro, 1996], a multimedia geostationary satellite platform conceived for providing personal communications.
