Abstract
The integration of computing, imaging, marking and controls technology has created digital color printing and publishing systems: office and production, capable of printing documents consistently anywhere anytime. New functionalities in printing and publishing systems are leading to improved services and productivity. Control systems play critical roles. This paper is an introduction to key elements of the end-to-end publishing system and to new breakthroughs in printing due to the application of modern controls principles and methods.
