Abstract
Based on topology and switching function matrix of three-phase to three-phase matrix converter (MC), topology and switching function matrix of a three-phase controlled rectifier is established including the maximum voltage transfer ratio /spl radic/3 / 2. Its basic conversion performances are implemented after analysis in theory and by simulation. It is shown by obtained results that it has good features such as variable output voltage amplitude, input current zero displacement and bi-directional power flow. One-step commutation strategy can be employed, which is derived from modified semi-natural two-step commutation.
