Abstract :
We derive in this paper a low-complexity receiver scheme for joint multiuser decoding and parameter estimation of code division multiple access (CDMA) signals. The receiver is mainly made of a serial interference canceler (SIC) and of an expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm for channel parameter estimation. Computer simulations show that the proposed receiver achieves near single-user performance even at high channel load (number of users per chip).
