Abstract
In this presentation, we summarized our results on efficient generation of coherent and tunable THz waves by using difference-frequency generation (DFG) and other parametric processes in second-order nonlinear materials, in particular, GaSe, ZnGeP2, periodically-poled LiNbO3, GaAs, and GaP. We will also illustrate our novel designs to make these THz sources as compact as possible and the most efficient as well as discuss potential applications of these unique sources.
