  • Abstract
In this paper, we proposed a new evaluation method of the physical activity by the acceleration signal. In many cases, the index of the physical activities is expressed as the sum of the absolute value of the acceleration signal due to the movement of body´s barycenter. In the above method, if we use the acceleration sensor that can detect a DC component, we must remove a gravitational acceleration component by using the filter, and then we must make a filter for that method. On the other hand, the new evaluation method we proposed doesn´t need to make a filter because we use the standard deviation of the acceleration signal as an index of the physical activity. In this study, we compared the result of our new evaluation method with the result of conventional evaluation method that use filter. As the results, it was showed that there was high correlation between these evaluated results. This means that our new evaluation method is useful and easy for calculation.
