Abstract
This work describes the analysis of equine gait data using Principle Component Analysis, Wavelets, and various Artificial Neural Networks. Strain data is collected from the hoof of the animal and is analyzed in an attempt to identify characteristics of the horse´s gait. These include if the animal is shod, the rate at which it is moving, and if it is not walking with a healthy gait. A comparison is made between the success of different Neural Network architectures and other techniques which are used to classify the data.
