  • Abstract
A multi-pulse generator provides a tool for the research of electroporation for transdermal drug delivery. The multi-pulse generator with which capacitor charges and discharges can generate a series pulse that is controlled by a pulse controller, and output of a voltage source in the apparatus is risen from DC 12 V of power supply to DC 400 V by a converter. And it is recorded some graphs of pulse of which applies to skin using Ag-AgCl electrode placed to same side of stratum corneum with the storage capacitance of 2.2 μF, 22 μF, 68 μF and 100 μF, respectively. Results show that when truncation coefficient is less than 1/5, the complete exponential decay pulse can be acquired, and skin resistance is 3.57±0.66 KΩ. Hence, the truncation coefficient is restricted by transdermal energy and pulse protocol. If parallel resistance and storage capacitance are optimally designed, it can be obtained that the highest energy efficiency of the power supply and the lowest truncation coefficient of pulse.
