Abstract
This paper proposes a receiver implementation that uses robust detection techniques on top of fast frequency hopping to eliminate jamming and multiple access interference in non-Rayleigh fading channels. Computation of error probabilities and asymptotic relative efficiencies parametric detectors contaminated heavy with respect to optimum for various channels and tailed noise distributions demonstrates that the proposed detectors maintain a nearly optimum performance for small signal to noise ratios regardless of the degree of noise contamination and interference. Moreover, the theory of the proposed techniques can be easily extended to include error analysis in case that error correcting codes are employed to improve error rates.
