Abstract
The paper presents two iterative multiuser detection and channel estimation (JDE) receivers of tractable complexity for downlink transmission using beamforming. The receivers results from an application of the space-alternating generalized expectation-maximization (SAGE) algorithm and a modified version. The proposed JDE schemes update the channel parameters in parallel and re-estimates the users´ symbols in successive order. Monte Carlo simulations in a frequency-selective scenario show that the JDE schemes are robust against errors in the estimation of the channel coefficients.
