  • Abstract
The smallest quantum defect (1.6%) for a laser crystal is demonstrated with a 125 /spl mu/m-thin plate of stoichiometric KYb(WO/sub 4/)/sub 2/. Pumped at 1025 nm, it emitted at 1042 nm.
