Abstract
This work presents evaluations concerning lightning induced overvoltages on low voltage distribution lines. The results were obtained by simulation, employing an elaborated electromagnetic model. Sensitivity analyses were developed in order to relate the effect of physical characteristics of line to the level of induced overvoltage at consumer service entrance. The influence of several effects was evaluated, comprising shielding promoted by neutral conductor, number of down conductors connecting neutral to the earth, value of grounding impedance of earth terminations, presence of consumer load and line configuration (conventional and multiplexed) on induced overvoltage at consumer service entrance.
