Abstract :
Experimental current-voltage data acquired under actual operating conditions on a monocrystalline SM 110-module from SIEMENS Solar were modelled, allowing to determine the module´s characteristic parameters photocurrent, saturation current, series resistance, parallel resistance and ideality factor. The data sets were acquired for irradiances varying between 456 and 1013 Wm/sup -2/ and at cell temperatures between 320 and 337 K (47 to 64/spl deg/C). First, the classical one-diode model was applied to single sets of current-voltage scans in order to obtain estimates of the parameters in question. Then, second the model was generalised, to be able to describe simultaneously several current-voltage scans taken at different intensities of the insolation and cell temperatures. At a cell temperature of 25/spl deg/C and an irradiance of 1000 Wm/sup -2/, the photo and saturation current were found to be 6.71 A and 64.1 nA, respectively. The values for the series and parallel resistances are 0.231 /spl Omega/ and 197 /spl Omega/, respectively. The ideality factor of the module is 46.1 and that one of the cell 1.28. At 25/spl deg/C and an irradiance of 1000 Wm/sup -2/, the module delivers a maximum output power of 106.2 W, being 3.5% below the manufacture´s specification.
