Abstract
The vast growth of wireless networks, with the associated importance of mobile computing, has generated a huge interest in wireless security and performance. Encryption mechanisms that are recently deployed in the wireless domain, including WEP (802.11) and TKIP (802.1X), all appear to require more enhancements. In this paper, we present the application of a new dynamic encryption system for the security of the wireless mobile domain. Unique to our system is the involvement of the encrypted data in the key management process, a feature that proven to be valuable to both security and performance of the hosting system. Our approach aims at higher performance than that of existing peer techniques, while maintaining the same level of solid security. Preliminary experiments with our system showed promising results, compared to the existing dominant peers´ applications in the wireless domain.
