Abstract
To increase the efficiency of frequency spectrum, the channel quadband is always kept to be limited. However, if the channels are closed, the interference coming from the undesired channels, adjacent channel interference (ACI), will degrade the system performance. Usually, the error performance of a communication system is predicted by using a long-time computer simulation. However, the mathematical analysis has the potential to predict the error performance more efficiently in time. In this paper, using central moment technique (CMT) makes the expeditious system performance evaluation. Considering the nongeostationary satellite channel, the results show the error performance is poor when the nonGEO satellite is located at a lower elevation angel (EL). Besides, the degradation of the effect of ACI is more prominent when the satellite is located at a higher EL.
