Abstract
Summary form only given. Today, every one of us has been enjoying the PC computing on the Web. As fast growth of wireless technology, and convergence of telecommunication and computing, PC+ is now a movement toward our daily life, for example, mobile phone with computing capability and meanwhile embedded computing devices with voice capability are all coming into our life. In this talk, we first give an overview on various wireless technologies such as WiMAX, Mobile-Fi, Zigbee, and UWB in addition to traditional cellular wireless technology. Then, we present various wireless networks based on the above radio technology, such as wireless mobile networks and wireless mesh network. Consequently, we talk about their applications that can enable people to surf the Web from anywhere at anytime on any devices. Accordingly, we present associated research directions.
