Abstract
Highly sensitive and selective monitoring method of benzene was newly developed. Selective reaction reagent that was used in the gas detecting tube was utilized. Using diiodine pentaoxide (I/sub 2/O/sub 5/), iodine (I/sub 2/) in proportion to the benzene concentration was formed. This was adsorbed on the silver electrode, and increase of the weight was measured. In case of 100 ppb of benzene concentration and fundamental frequencies of 9 MHz at 30/spl deg/C, the frequency response of about -370 Hz was obtained. As a result of the examination, it was found that the minimum detection resolution was 0.3 ppb/Hz.
