Abstract :
The three-dimensional wavelet transform is extremely important for image and video processing. The paper presents a number of three dimensional non-separable wavelet transforms, each of which is obtained using a lifting scheme. The performances of the new wavelets in terms of psycho-visual reconstruction quality and peak signal-to-noise ratio are compared to tensor product wavelets in a lossy image compression application.
