Abstract
Artifacts such as zipper effect and false color degrade the quality of the recovered images in color filter array demosaicing. To suppress these artifacts and recover high-quality images, we propose a hybrid demosaicing method in this paper. The proposed method consists of two successive processes: a reconstruction process, which adopts a number of spatial adaptive schemes greatly reducing zipper effects around edges regions, and refinement process, which utilizes adaptive median filtering as well as iterative correction in color difference planes to suppress false color. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods, both visually and quantitatively, on a large variety of test images.
